Considering a resin driveway - what's the DIY experience like?

My gravel driveway constantly spreads onto the lawn and it’s becoming a real hassle to maintain. I’ve been thinking about upgrading to something more permanent and tidy, and resin driveways have really caught my eye. They look so clean and contemporary. I’m fairly handy around the house and always up for a new challenge, so I’ve been considering doing the installation myself to save on costs. For anyone who has attempted this, what was your personal experience like? Were there any specific hurdles or unexpected difficulties you encountered?

Having recently tackled part of my garden path with a similar product, I can tell you that a Resin Driveway project is definitely achievable for a dedicated DIYer. The preparation work really is the most critical stage; you absolutely need a stable and well-drained sub-base before you even think about mixing the resin. I spent a good amount of time ensuring the area was level and properly sealed from any potential damp issues. Finding the right kit was also important; I looked for one with various colours and found that some companies offer trade prices if you buy in bulk, which can really help with the cost for larger areas like a driveway. It’s a rewarding project, but patience and attention to detail are paramount throughout the entire installation process.
